SW flanges are suitable for small diameter high-pressure piping systems. Stainless Steel Socket Weld Flanges have excellent fatigue durability and don’t require beveling before welding. Socket weld flanges are usually used for the small size of high-pressure pipes. The chemical composition of SS socket welded flanges contains a high concentration of carbon in its overall chemical composition. Socket flanges and other flanges of stainless steel are combined with other metals such as copper to develop highly efficient alloys to obtain high mechanical properties. 316 SS Socket Weld Flange offers excellent immunity in stress-induced environments and considerable tolerance.

SW stainless steel flanges are not suitable for radioactive or corrosive environments. Some of the key features of SS socket weld flanges produced by RIC are excellent strength, high corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and high melting point. An internal recess on the interior side of the pipe allows the subtle flow of fluids and gases in SWRF flanges. SS Socket Weld Flanges possess good weldability, fabricability, and resilience to oxidation. The Fatigue Strength of the Socket flange is 50 percent higher than the SO stainless steel flange. Stainless steel material provides sturdy construction, high compressive strength, and easy alignment during installment. Socket flanges have a shoulder at the inner bore and static strength equivalent to slip-on flanges. Socket Weld fittings are avidly used for small pipe diameters, generally for piping whose nominal diameter is NPS 2 or smaller.
