The inner and outer side of a pipe is welded with the flange, which helps to prevent leaks and give strength to the pipe. Carbon Steel Slip on Flanges is similar to socket weld flanges (which have socket shoulder) of the same grade. Many clients prefer slip-on flanges due to their cheaper price and lesser precision required while a pipe is cut to length. As these flanges don’t have socket shoulders which lets a pipe go through the flange. The interior of the flange is a little larger than the pipe, due to which it slips over the pipe.
