SW flanges are appropriate for piping systems with small diameters and high pressures. Socket weld flanges made of stainless steel have excellent fatigue durability and don’t need to be beveled before welding. For the smaller sizes of high-pressure pipes, socket weld flanges are typically utilized. In the overall chemical composition of SS socket welded flanges, carbon is present in high concentrations. To create highly effective alloys with high mechanical properties, stainless steel flanges such as socket flanges and other types of flanges are combined with other metals like copper. The 316 SS Socket Weld Flange has a high level of tolerance and excellent resistance in stressful environments.
Environments that are corrosive or radioactive are not suitable for SW stainless steel flanges. Excellent strength, high corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and a high melting point are some of the key characteristics of the stainless steel socket weld flanges made by RIC. In SWRF flanges, a subtle flow of liquids and gases is permitted thanks to an internal recess on the interior side of the pipe. SS Socket Weld Flanges are easily fabricated, weldable, and oxidation-resistant. The Socket flange has a 50% higher fatigue strength than the SO stainless steel flange. Strong construction, high compressive strength, and simple alignment during installation are all provided by the stainless steel material. The inner bore of socket flanges has a shoulder, and they have static strength comparable to slip-on flanges. For small pipe diameters, commonly for piping with a nominal diameter of NPS 2 or less, socket weld fittings are frequently used.
