The Groove and Tongue Flange is made with a flared ring milled into its face in the Stainless Steel Tongue & Groove Flange. A corresponding indentation is machined into the face of the Groove Flange. It’s critical to align the faces of these flanges to ensure a watertight connection. Tongue & Groove Flanges are used in a variety of industries, including water systems, shipbuilding, oil fields, offshore, natural gas, electric power, and pipe projects. Tongue and groove flanges also have the advantage of being self-aligning and acting as adhesive storage. The scarf joint aligns the bearing axis with the joint and therefore does not necessitate extensive machining.
